This radio requires dealer turn-on but can be put into a fully functioning test mode for 10 minutes at a time upon installation. Any GM dealer can unlock the radio and it is literally a 5 minute process. Most dealers charge anywhere from $50 to $100 but some will do it free of charge if you have a good relationship with them. Please make plans before purchasing.

The operation of the iPod jack is a snap. Just plug your accessory in and you will be listening to it through all of your car speakers. Use the volume control on the radio as you usually would. It is the same with the bass, treble, fader, and balance. Press the clock button and you have a clock display. There is no compromise on the audio going into the jack as it is running straight into the amp.
